A group of enthusiastic Willow-ite volunteers were treated to a history lesson when they joined the fifth graders at San Joaquin Elementary School for the annual “Colonial Days.”  Groups of students were assigned names based on five of the founding colonies and then circulated among five stations for the better part of the morning.  Activities included quilting/applique, candle making, dancing, tin punching and orienteering (use of compass and maps).

The Willows group was mustered by resident Barry Morton, and shared the delight of the school staff:  “Rumor has it that we might be invited back in 2018, so keep your powder dry for a repeat engagement.”

Enjoy some fun photos of this continued sharing between The Willows and the San Joaquin Cheetahs.
